In deel 10 van de "10 vragen aan..." deze keer aandacht voor Wyatt Russell.

1. Where and when did you start playing hockey?
I was three when my dad took me to an outdoor rink in Toronto, Canada. I fell in love with
it immediatley and when I got home I was put into a league and played for the unbeatable
Marina City Sharks...We were sick...I was 5.
2. What's the difference in your opinion between Canadian and Dutch hockey?
The intensity seems to be the biggest difference. In Canada hockey is like a religion. It is a
way of life. As a serious player it molds you into who you become as a man. I feel that it is
much like soccer here in Holland.
3. How did you get in contact with the Grizzlies and why did you chose for this team?
My agent spoke with Harald Frank and I continued to speak with him via Skype using the
worst German ever. We then agreed on terms and now I'm here.
4. How do you like playing here in Groningen and what do you think of the city?
I haven't gotten in the net yet because my player card is still in Germany. But the City is
amazing! I've never lived in any city where if you don't have a bicycle you're not cool...I have
a sweet bike...Handlebars, wheels the whole shabang...so I'm cool too...Like the rest of the
Groningers.
5. Your playing goalie, did you always play or wanted to play in this position?
I started out as a forward. However, I quickly realized that if the other team didn't score,
they couldn't win. So I would stay with our goalie as the play went into the other end and
play tandem goalie. My coach finally decided to put me in goal so we could have all 5 guys
in the offensive zone.
6. Besides hockey, are there other things you do here in Groningen? (Study, working, being
lazy?)
I like to read a lot. I can be a real nerd. One of my roommates is a 55 year old man. He is a
writer and a very wise man. We sit upon my terraced balcony over looking the storied
skyline of this great city that is Groningen. We speak in a windswept breadth of thought
flowing like a river of knowledgde, connected only by a causeway of synapses transcending
what humans percieve as space and time flowing seemlessly into the outerreaches of our
minds as the minutes flow with feroctiy compressing reality into an illusion. Unspoken
understanding between our two minds exist in a random yet multi-tiered structure of truth
and hope. He is a very interesting man. He likes to cook. I wish he was a woman.
7. Do you have any hobbies?
Would eating chicken wings on Saturdays be considered a hobby?
8. Do you have a girlfriend, are you married, are you single?
I'm as single as they get! And i'm not picky...as long as shes pretty, smart, and has a nice
smile, and tall but not too tall, and healthy, and athletic, and regal, and refined, and blonde,
and carefree...So if you are these things, come hither and we will watch the sunset over a
wonderous Groningen cityskape...check out my profile on E-Harmony.com
9. What are your plans for the future?
To go back to it...
10. Who's your favourite player?
Ryan "the bat outta hell steamboat" Burkholder, The one and only captain of the
UAH Chargers.
Sorry ladies...he's taken.
